Caldwell 23 (NGC 891) Edge on spiral galaxyNGC 891 is an edge on spiral galaxy in Andromeda. It has a visual magnitude 10.1 and is at a distance of 10 million light years. The relative dimensions of this galaxy are thought to be typical for a spiral galaxy. Note the dust lane runing along the equator and how thin the disk is.
The secondary mirror started to dew up about half way through the exposure.
